What it isما هو
Photographing a wedding hall, a classroom or a family gathering means capturing faces that should not be captured. Editing them out afterwards means the unblurred original existed, was stored, and possibly synced to a cloud backup before you got to it.
Halal Camera closes that window: detection and blurring happen right after capture, on the device, so the file that reaches storage is already filtered.
Results
- Published on Google Play, with a native iOS counterpart.
- Blurring applied before the file is written to storage.
Challenges
Each one opens twice: what went wrong on the left, what I did on the right.
01
The unfiltered original must never be written
Problem
The natural implementation saves the photo, then processes it. That leaves the original on disk, where a gallery scanner or a cloud backup can pick it up before it is replaced.
What I did
Processing happens on the in-memory frame before anything is persisted, so the only file that ever exists on disk is the filtered one.
